Mums of boys will remind them to be careful for they are no longer three years old and no longer carry spare socks or trousers for such scenarios.

Boys will look back confident in their ability, safe in the knowledge that there is nothing Mums can do to stop them.

Boys do not care that there is a 50/50 chance that they will spend the car journey home barefooted with wet trousers rolled up to the knees.
