Oak tree

Walking the lanes and footpaths around the local farmland we are taking great pleasure in the oaks. This one is on a lane that further on passes some Medieval  ‘ridge and furrow’. There is a reminder of something ancient in this land; the long ago settlements. This oak, not Medieval, but with a good lifespan behind it, will have ‘witnessed’ many passing human 
generations.
