Bassenthwaite Reflections

An afternoon of photography in the lake district was coming to an end, I was running late and needed to get home. Driving past Bassenthwaite, it caught my eye. It was still. I have never been to the lakes when it has been perfectly still. I couldn't pass up this opportunity. In seconds the light would be gone and who know when the breeze would pick back up again as it had been all day. I pulled my car in to the nearest bit of road wide enough to park, grabbed my camera and scrambled down to the water's edge. I managed just a couple of exposures before the sun was lost behind Whinlatter to the west.
