The Nutcracker Suite

When I saw this whimsical neighbourhood scene I thought of The Nutcracker, a ballet for which Tchaikovsky composed the musical suite. It's a Christmas story about toys coming to life at the stroke of midnight. The nutcracker is one of those traditional carved wooden ones typically dressed as a red-coated soldier (although I've seen blue ones also). When the nutcracker comes to life, he manifests as a handsome prince.

Here in the photo we have the red military style coat, two gorgeous tutus, Christmas baubles and just above the fence line a toy gnome and a toy dressed-up mouse.

The Nutcracker Suite is not song but it's music. I've thought outside the box re the Wide Wednesday theme.
