Twelfth Night. January 6th 2021.

Having had a long conversation with our son and wife the other evening after schools peremptorily closed ( and yes the closure was necessary) we made a decision between the four of us to form a ChildCare bubble. My lawyer hubby looked through the Guidelines and all the Statutory ones, in case it was simply not possible. And none of us wanted to break them.
I will include the Guidelines in this blip.
They are not in another bubble. And like us, stick to regulations.
It is simply impossible to homeschool the 3 of the ones of school age, with a toddler of 21 months needing care and attention. And their dad working at home. (Since March lockdown)
So they are all coming here tomorrow door to door from Bristol without a stop, for at least 10 days initially, when we can help them. Our son can work from here too. And he cleared it with his company.
We have the large loft room which has an en-suite which the kids love. Their 3 beds are ready up there..
Bonnie will be in the small office cum bedroom in a travel cot that one of their good friends is dropping off here later. They live quite nearby and are Godparents to the children.
There will be no social meet ups just ones at a distance on the doorstep.
They were so excited when they were informed, that we had loads of texts from the two older ones and a video from Toby made by his dad of him saying he is so looking forward to being here. Libby added Bonnie on to a short FaceTime at 7.30am this morning. Good job I was in the kitchen making a drink. Hubby was asleep upstairs.
We know it will be exhausting but already some wonderful friends have already offered help with shopping and meals. One sent a message straightaway last night to ask if we would like a lasagne!
So touching.
I have been cleaning everything in sight upstairs and down. We have a family bathroom on the first floor and a small downstairs toilet and washbasin.
Our mornings are going to begin very early from here on in.
I’ll finish here.
Here are the Guidelines.

“What a childcare bubble is
From 2 December, childcare bubbles are allowed in all tiers.

A childcare bubble is where one household links with one other household to provide informal childcare to anyone under 14. All adults in both households must agree to this arrangement. ‘Informal’ childcare means it is unpaid and unregistered.

Members of either household can provide childcare in a home or public place. This includes overnight care.

You can only have one childcare bubble with one other household. This means no household should be part of more than one childcare bubble.”

It was such a relief to know that this is possible!
I took the photo just before the sun slipped behind the rooftop. It is higher in the sky bit by bit now, late afternoons. When it has made an appearance.
