Three Kings Day And a COVID-19 Experience

Today’s Blipfoto features the Three Kings. Tomorrow we would take down and put away our Christmas Decorations.

This year, however, we have decided to keep them as is till the end of January. They will be on show for Robbie Burns Supper.

The COVID-19 Experience. Today we received a message from one of our American "sons". I had mentioned him previously.

Fred is in his mid-40s and very fit.

Here is what he sent:

COVID is cruel. Day 13 put me in the ER. Doc says my case is moderate. Let me tell you what moderate has been: no smell, a lot of pain, a bad cough. Just like you read about. But here’s the rest of the story: you’re so weak and tired you lay staring at the ceiling willing your body to move; it hurts so much to breathe you feel you’re being held at the bottom of the deep end of the pool; your mind plays tricks on you; you’re relieved when COVID gives you a day to feel better only to take it away just because it can; you can’t sleep because you’re not entirely sure you’ll wake. This year has been hard, yes, but please do what you can to keep yourself and your loved ones safe. I’m going to make it through this but I’d prefer to keep COVID something you just read about.
