American beauty

A monarch butterfly in all its glory.  It isn't precisely known when Monarchs ended up on our shores, but it is thought they got blown in by a storm at some point in the early 1800's.

However they got here, they are thriving in our climate and seeing that they have a very specific food source, and the caterpillars don't eat any of our native plants, we welcome them.

My heart breaks for America today.  Please know that you are in our hearts and minds at this truly dreadful time.
