River of Flowers

Friday: Scruffy Garden ...

... Happy Wildlife :-))
Most mornings when I look at the teasels through the kitchen window they are covered with Goldfinch, there must have been a dozen yesterday busy tearing chunks off the seed heads to get at the seeds, anything edible dropping to the ground gets scooped up by the Chaffinch.
Lots of birds on the bird feeders this morning and Philip the Pheasant hoovering up all the seeds falling onto the soil. The goldfinch and siskins who were waiting to get onto the bird feeders were busy foraging on the dead flower heads of the Verbena bonariensis, https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2755535634251647017 - so pretty with their purple flowers, don’t recall seeing birds eating their seeds before!
It rained for most of the day, I dodged showers to refill the bird feeders a couple of times, they’re worth it :-)x
MrD had a very busy delivery day and came home exhausted.
Happy Weekend everyone xx
Stay safe & healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
