The temperature has remained below freezing all day which has meant that last night’s snow is still sparklingly crisp making it easier to walk on top of the ice beneath, although the snow in the road in front of our house has become impacted into ice with children using it as a sledge run.  Even though it was midday, surprisingly the main road still had car tracks in the snow but we turned off and walked along the fields where there were innumerable tracks of animals and views of the Pentland hills under an almost cloudless sky
