Summer Kitchen

Here is the lovely daughter cutting up strawberries which will later go on top of a pavlova.  This morning we went to the Nelson Market and it was the quietest I have seen it.  There was a lot of space to walk around.  It was an overcast morning.  We both bought moisturiser from the Pure Peony ladies.  "the skin calming and anti bacterial properties of the peony root assist in the bodies natural healing"  I have been using it since I moved here.  It is way less expensive than Estee Lauder which I used to use. Their creams are also very good for people with eczema and they are nice ladies who grow the peonies and manufacture the creams not far from here.  Daughter bought a framed seed and sand picture in a Maori design to give to a friend as a house warming gift.  I usually think these can be a little tacky but this artists work was wonderful.   By giving us a free sample a good salesman got us to buy a combination of seeds called savoury pump kisss.  Pumpkin, sesame, sunflower and soy toasted seeds for snacks, salads or even over boiled vegetables.  I thought they might liven up the zucchini I am collecting from the garden.   The lovely daughters holiday comes to an end tomorrow when she returns to Christchurch and the work routine.  It has been lovely having her home as it always is.  No hens photo today as their owners are home and their dog can deter the cat.
