Derby layer cake.  It was a beautiful morning, warmish skies, misty, just lovely. 

I didn't see my kingfisher but I did see a dozen or more siskens in a tree and a pair of nuthatches. 

I also won the paper shop jackpot.   I went past a local shop that I hadn't been to in the 7+ years I've been here.  I was looking in the window to see if there was a copy of my paper left and the owner said 'come in, you can bring your dog'.  I'd made a pledge to buy my papers from an independent shop from now on, not a supermarket so this shop is now my go to paper shop.  Result.
