The Grandmother - Sweet Chestnut in Roslin Glen

Two Heritage Trees lie among the ruins of Rosebank House in Roslin Glen. They once grew in the garden of the century dower house, but it was demolished in the 1950's.

These trees are among the oldest examples of this species in the whole of Scotland.

This project aims to post an image a day from this tree and its neighbour (it's granddaughter). The trees support many plants, insects & animals which I hope to capture. They are also the focus for 'new age' people who regularly sit among its branches and leave small offerings.
