Frozen moss

I had a frosty walk round Swaddywell Pit yesterday, which is now definitely in full winter colours of ochre and blue. The mosses along the tarmac track looked particularly beautiful, with some still frosted and others showing their glorious yellow-green colours.

There were plenty of birds round the feeders, particularly house sparrows, great and blue tits, dunnocks and reed buntings, but otherwise it was fairly quiet. As I left I spotted a sheep looked slightly bemused at the starling perched on its horn!

Pete seems to have gone down with the lurgy that we've all had - he's succumbed more badly than the rest of of us and spent the day in bed with a very sore throat, sneezing and coughing. However, no temperature and his sense of smell is still okay, which seems to point towards a nasty cold.
