Montagu Bridge

I wanted to run on terrain but to keep it fairly flat after yesterdays snow bashing adventure so ventured to Dalkeith Country Park as it fitted the bill and it was nice to run somewhere different. No snow here unlike yesterday. It would have been excellent had the Eastern sector been open to the public. I had the o-map and tried all the paths into it but they were wise and had put barriers up every time.

This is Montagu Bridge. It was built in 1792 as a gift from the Montagu Family to the Queensberry family to celebrate a marriage between the two families. It spans 70 feet across the river North Esk and was designed by William Adam
