Winter Light

After days of overcast skies, at last a breakthrough, with a bit of soft winter sun reflecting off the lake ice. Temperatures just lifting above freezing and no wind, so it was quite pleasant. The ice fishermen were out in numbers on the far shore in their little tents. An excuse for a few beers it seems, since not much fishing goes on.

I hadn't anticipated taking a wide shot and had gone out with a telephoto lens. It seemed too nice to miss, so I took a five shot pano in portrait orientation so I could include more sky. Five frames seemed to stitch much better than my usual attempts. I noticed in the grey sky I had lots more dust spots than usual because of the extra shots.
