Red-Eyed Fly

Another fly today, but this one is only about 5mm long. As with yesterday’s robber fly it also preys on other flies. It probably belongs to the Sapromyzidae family, but it takes an expert to ID the species.

Great gardening weather today. I cleared out a number of vegetable bins and buckets and prepared them for use again. I planted lettuces and parsley I’d grown from seed, and sowed lettuces, pak choy and silver beet (chard) seeds. My mobile vegetable garden is handy for moving about to the best sites. Not all plants can take the harsh sunshine, when we get it.
