Waiting for Mum

We camped off the grid last night - no internet coverage available in the wilds of the West Coast.  So blipping late.

Today we went through to Gillespies Beach.  In my head the blip would have been of the coastline in some way but these swallows pushed themselves to Blipdom.  They were sitting on an old rusty pipe on some old piece of mining equipment (a part of a dredge I think), waiting for mum to come back and feed them.

The second photo is of the Moeraki (Blue) River (the Moeraki on the West Coast not my usual haunt on the East Coast).  We camped literally backed up to this river.  A beautiful spot.

Azzy had a swim here, then got herself into a patch of seed heads which totally matted her coat, so I forced her in for another swim before brushing them all out.  They were definitely upsetting her as she behaved beautifully while I brushed her, including her muzzle which was matted with them too.  She was such a good girl.
