Frozen. But not slippery.

We went out for an early walk this morning. Snow was forecast later. There was a period of hailstones and smoother surfaces were slippery, so we opted for rougher frozen ground. Good choice. There are fifteen trees on the right; many have identification numbers on them.

Watched some stuff online today. And read.

The First Minister announced further Coronavirus restrictions in Parliament before FMQs: tightening of click and collect retail services and takeaways, controls on refurbishment projects in private homes, home-working requirements etc. Also addressed a “leaving home for essential purpose” loophole. Ambition is to protect population and NHS Scotland over the coming weeks. 1949 new cases, sadly 79 deaths. U.K. 1564 deaths, (amazingly another record...), and still over 45,500 cases. Vaccination programme becoming established in Scotland; lots happening contrary to some media reports, eg I learned of the system in place locally to use up any allocated (but unused) vaccine.

Family FaceTime. All are well. Good chat. Lots was school focused. That’s sometimes inevitable here.
