Today's the day ........................... to plant trees

A glorious day to be driving south from Edinburgh through the Scottish borders - past the Devil's Beeftub - and down into the valley of the River Annan towards Moffat.

The view was so clear that it was easy to spot that someone has been planting trees on the otherwise bare hillsides.

It looked a bit like designer stubble ..............................
