Old Portobello

From the outside it looks like this rum lounge and cocktail bar has been here forever. It's only been around since 2003. 

Thanks to the retro kitsch window dressing the tiki bar fits in very well with the market dynamic. From the chaotic house clearance end on Golborne Road to the bohemian chic in Notting Hill.

I've been taking my daily walk around here because there are fewer people around. That in itself is a problem. So many of the older shops and arcades have given up completely, their leases for sale. I am trying to capture Portobello Road in limbo.

When we come out of the other end of this things will not be the same. I imaging the area will become like Westbourne Grove, a bohemian Bond Street.
