The Boar’s Head Inn

At a major junction on the old Roman Road, the A49 running N-S through Lancashire, the hostel, coaching inn and now modern pub, has stood here since at least the C14th, and this building dates back to 1450.
MrsB and I used to call in quite regularly back in the day, ducking through its very low ceilings with Toby Jugs hanging from the beams, and I remember my mum having a ‘favourite’ table to sit and drink her slimline bitter lemon when she took us out for lunch in the late ‘70’s.
