Arches

Another short walk around town at lunchtime, I was intending to go further, but the path was just mud and puddles. I thought I'd photograph the arched entrances around town, including to a couple of the small yards with small independent shops inside. I watched a couple of episodes of Bridgerton this afternoon, but not sure I'll carry on with it.

Day 308 / Day 13 of Lockdown 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 671 to 89,261 (revised basis), with 38,598 new cases (first time below 40k since 27th Dec), 37,475 patients in hospital, 3,789 on ventilation and 4,179 new admissions. 3.9m have now received their first dose of the vaccine, including half of over 80s. More people have now been vaccinated than have tested positive for the virus in the UK (although little testing initially). 10 new mass vaccination hubs will open in England on Monday. Deaths in France have passed 70k and there is now a 6pm to 6am curfew across the country. The CEO of NHS England said that since xmas day, 15,000 CV patients have been admitted which is the equivalent of filling 30 hospitals full of Covid patients. Govt ministers are still referring to early Spring being when things should start to look a lot better and restrictions might start to be eased. The US says it has intelligence that researchers in a Wuhan lab became ill in autumn 2019 with Covid-like symptoms. I've always thought an accidental leak from a major lab in Wuhan researching coronaviruses is the most likely source of the virus which started in the very same city.
