SUCCULENT IN BLOOM

Yesterday I wrote that planting in 3's is a good idea.  Today the
number "3" comes to mind for a different reason:
"trouble comes in 3's."  Sometimes life seems to dump numerous
troublesome events & it seems like the #3  is common.

Today it feels like a day when "trouble comes in in 3's" is actually happening.  First, COVID is so rampant is our area, that I have not driven my car in 2 weeks.  We are told to assume everyone we meet has it.  Vaccine distribution is ramping up, but there are glitches.

Second, we are advised to STAY HOME because the potential for
violence is heightened leading us to THE BIDEN/HARRIS INAUGURATION.
Washington DC is being protected by the national guard, but state capitals are also at risk for violence. Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Day, which could be an excuse to bring out the white supremacists, & their guns.
"Soft Targets" like churches could be in the cross hairs.  I live in a small city in Southern California, a liberal bastion; but our town has plenty of
Trump loyalists itching for a fight.

And if those are not worrying enough, we are having a FIRE WEATHER PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF WARNING.  That means, in the next
24 hours we are going to have a severe wind event, with 35-50MPH winds, & 75MPH gusts, until late Wednesday.  When this happens the power company shuts off electricity to avoid wildfire caused by downed power lines.  Quite a few of our worst wildfires in recent years have been caused by the electric company's negligence.  I have not been effected recently, but
many people in my town lost power for days, including on Thanksgiving.
The recent constant wind dries everything & our lack of rain makes
the open space a tinderbox.  There is a wildfire in Malibu as I write this.

This potted succulent blooming without a concern, follows my other
adage:  a touch of yellow always brightens the mood, lifts the gloom.

Life is full of challenges, & even a small, sunny flower can help.
