Adnams Both Barrels beer

This is one of my favourite beers. It is based on the popular strong beer called Broadside, available as both a draught and bottled beer. At 9% alcohol it's not a boy's beer and I find it luscious - a sipping beer not a 'quaffing' one. Regular Broadside is aged in oak barrels which have been previously used for Bourbon. They are then left for 6 years and at some time some cherries are added.

This is a bottle I'm keeping for a few more years before drinking and is from 2018. The bad news is: Adnams usually release an annual bottling of Both Barrels in February or March. Because of the pandemic in 2020 and shops being closed in Spring time there was none made available. Enquiries to the brewery or to the shop in town promised a release later in the year but it never happened (or I missed it!)
