River Tarff

Today's the day ……………………. for water, water, everywhere

It was actually a better day than had been forecasted and we didn't get any of the heavy rain promised for some parts - but it was still a bit gloomy.  Obviously a lot of rain had fallen yesterday on the hills, swelling the rivers - and coupled with high tides - meant that water levels were very high.  In fact, I don't think I've ever seen so much water in the River Tarff, a tributary of the River Dee.

The reed beds were mainly underwater and everything looked quite a different shape from normal.  That square building on the right is a hide where you can go to watch out for the kingfisher - but there was no way you could reach it today.  It probably had a few feet of water inside it too.

But it's something that happens on a regular basis - and no harm has been done ………………………..
