First Attempt

We've always resisted buying a bread-maker as up until now we've been enjoying some excellent bread from the Craft Bakery in Sheringham which we could buy in Bakers & Larners Food Hall.  However, they are closed for the lockdown and to avoid having to drive to Sheringham every time we needed bread (especially during lockdown) we decided to buy a 'compact' bread maker.  This is our first loaf.  It's a bit 'dense' as we used quite a high proportion of wholemeal flour so we'll experiment with the ratio of white flour to wholemeal until we get it right.  It was still delicious though.
Our early breakfast of a small bowl of porridge every day means we are peckish by 10am so we really enjoy a slice of toast with our mid-morning coffee so I think we'll make good use of it.  It'll also free up space in the freezer for other goodies, bread takes up so much room.
PS: The lovely old wooden bread board was my late mother's and we used it everyday throughout my childhood.
