View from the Haka Hotel

Well!!!

It’s done; it’s dusted; it’s deposited.

Done means the sale has gone through. Settlement has occurred, and we are presently up at Snells Beach trying to recover. Done also means that all that made the apartment our home has been moved out. The rooms are empty, and there’s nothing on the deck. It no longer feels like us. One bit of done is still for the movers to do. What has had to go to storage pending a new home, has not been able to be put in storage. Perhaps tomorrow.

Dusted is part of what S and I did this morning. It also involved sweeping, vacuuming, cleaning, wiping, putting into a rubbish bag, and removing most traces of our occupancy. But dusted is how we both felt at the end of it: turned into dust.
Subtract (Don’t know where that came from)

Deposited is what our lawyer did after subtracting her fee, the bank requirements, and the agent’s fee. All ready for the next stage.

At the start of the day I took a photo from the room we were open at the Haka Hotel. A much more expansive view than we enjoyed at the Hilton some weeks ago. And much less expensive.
