My walking friend John called for me at 10 am - I'm always on time and waiting for him as he ambles down the jitty - and we set off.   Burnaston and then onto Etwall, neither of which places I've been before, and then back via familiar villages and fields. Inevitably the nearer you get to home, the more well known the paths will be, but John plots a good walk.

Halfway round we stepped over a stile and then immediately over an electric fence, which was fine until I grabbed the wooden fence to stop myself sliding in the mud and got a right belter of a shock through my leg! I don't think that's happened to me before, and I don't want it to happen again.

Extra: I think this is a Cladonia, the pixie cup lichen?
