View From the Top

Here's a view from the upstairs window, looking across at my friends the palm trees.  The clouds are what's left of the rainstorm we had for most of the day. Looks like we're headed for a stretch of cooler wetter weather after such a crazy hot week.

It's the last Friday when the zoom class and the zoom social are on the same day, thank goodness. One zoom is one too many, and two leave me zombified for the rest of the day, no matter how interesting the subject or the people.

I cancelled our upcoming reservation at Yosemite with great regret, but it seemed like the best only right thing to do. We were due to go in two weeks, but right this minute the park isn't open at all because of severe damage sustained during the recent windstorm. Trees down, cars and buildings smashed--unfortunately this seems to have become the norm from extreme weather anymore. And when they are able to open again, it will be with all the familiar covid restrictions. Plus no access to the ski trails which are always part of our winter trips. So, we're sticking close to home like sensible old people who are trying their best to stay safe and healthy. I will miss being in the snow though. My heart's been on the slopes since I was a little girl.
