Crane Parking

Not the birds but the hydraulic lifters or cherry pickers. My guess is that these belong to a tree company and are probably in high demand right now. We've certainly seen a lot of them around here. They made quite an arresting sight as we drove to the Cottage Garden Nursery* today.

We bought a lot of grasses and succulents to plant in our fire garden. The nursery is a delightful place to spend some time despite the fact that they were quite low on plants. The story we get everywhere is that with all the time they are forced to spend at home, people are turning to their gardens for recreation. We have found that it is a lot more fun to choose new plants than to clean up rubble....

The weather has been lovely although rain is predicted to start tomorrow night.  We are already getting notices to prepare for floods, landslides and power failures because an 'atmospheric river' is on its way. We're still trying to recover from the last disaster, we don't need every rainstorm to turn into a disaster.I think the media is going to take awhile to adjust to not having a crisis a minute to report on....
