All Our Yesterdays

Met up with an old university pal and we went to see LINCOLN at the Macrobert Centre. Spielberg really can handle large subjects such as D Day and the American Civil War by concentrating on a smaller part of a larger canvas. Daniel Day Lewis manages to portray Lincoln as a down to earth human being not an icon or an animated version of Mount Rushmore.

This is the restaurant of the Macrobert and when we were students it was a series of coffee tables and banquettes. Many Wednesday afternoons were spent putting the world to rights and complaining about the government especially the Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer.

How many students have ever heard of Edward Heath, Anthony Barber and the three day week?
