Or .. Ever present danger.This isn't a thunder cloud, but rather smoke from a fire burning about 10 km away.

Scary stuff.  I think I'll get the cat cage down just in case.

There are 7 aircraft, and more than 50 appliances - it's far enough away not to worry about ... much.

It's incredibly hot, and we are praying that the wind doesn't get up.

Edit: This image is much scarier than the one I originally posted, but we have just received news that there has been a wind change and it's going away from us.  We've also heard that  it was deliberately lit.  Many small towns are now in its path.
