2016-01-24 (Day 024) Fishers Of Men

Golf was playable for the first time in several weeks, so I took Cameron to the course and then went for a little walk while he played. This time I went along the River Carron. It is rather full at the moment, and some of the path was submerged, but I was able to get as far as the weir.

It had been clear all along the river that this was a popular area for angling. But I guess that fishing near the weir is frowned upon - certainly the notice makes it clear that it is forbidden within fifty yards of the weir itself.

Meanwhile, the house of the "fishers of men" - Larbert Old Church - stands proudly over the village, looking down at the house, farms and, of course, the river.
