No Pasaran

Mr C and I had a very interesting walk today, through the back streets of Whitechapel and Wapping to the river and back.    We randomly passed the Cable Street Mural which I had not seen before.   Here's a part of it..

The mural is in Shadwell and commemorates the Battle of Cable Street in 1936. Thousands (and maybe up to 250,000 if some accounts are to be believed) of people gathered in East London to oppose a fascist march. The march was stopped, but only after a battle between the anti-fascists and the police. We also found a plaque near to Cable Street itself.

The extra was taken on the river.  I see a lot of these little snow creatures (someone's been creative) but this is the best I think.   The snow in London arrived this morning and is now gone.
