The Dutch Village

Today’s Blipfoto is another view of the Dutch Village at Craigtoun Country Park.

The thumbnail features the boat house which is in Baroque Style. The other buildings are roomed turrets and the gatehouse.

The complete structure is built on an island reached by a stone footbridge which can be seen on the right.

Much of the ground remains open within the perimeter walls. The "village" was built in 1920 and is the main feature of the designed landscape which was part of the Mount Melville estate.

I anticipate that we will make many trips to Craigtoun during the next year taking several Blipfotos as the season progress.

I plan to take several of the Mansionhouse, although getting close to it will require the assistance of my zoom lens equipped  camera.

Today we celebrate Robert Burn’s with the traditional meal featuring haggis. The haggis arrived this morning from H M Sheridan in Ballater courtesy of the Royal Mail. Of course, also featured is whisky.

Pat also received her appointment letter to have her first vaccination for COVID-19 which will take place in the new community centre at Tayport.
