2017-07-29 (Day 210) King's Knot

This photograph of Stirling Castle and its sutrroundings is taken from the King's Knot, an earthwork feature believed to date from the 1620s - though this central mound is believed to be much older.

In 2011, a Glasgow University archaeological study discovered evidence of a circular structure under the King's Knot. What makes this discovery interesting is that there have for centuries been claims that the site was the location of King Arthur's round table.
