Beach Huts

A stained glass version of beach huts unfortunately rather than the real thing. Another quiet day, I finally got hold of Oak Furniture Land to discuss the other two items I received recently which also had some damage on them. I accepted compensation for one item and the other is being replaced...........on an estimated date of June 21st!

Day 316 / Day 21 of Lockdown 3 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 592 to 98,531 (revised basis), with 22,195 new cases, 37,899 patients in hospital, 4,076 on ventilation and 3,547 new admissions.  c6.6m have now received their first dose of the vaccine. New cases are lower than they have been, and are by date reported, but looking at the data by specimen date, there are noticeably lower specimens at the weekend which shouldn't be the case. Globally, total cases reported to date will pass 100,000 tonight. The ONS has released updated figures on occupations with the highest death rate, with 2/3 of deaths being among men. Highest rates are with men working in elementary occupations (taxi drivers, chefs, security guards and processing plant workers) and also those working in caring, leisure and other service occupations. Teachers and educational professionals were not statistically more at risk of dying. An editorial by scientists at the UEA and University of Minnesota says that evolution of the virus in animals followed by transmission to people 'poses a significant long-term risk to public health' and that 'vaccination of some domesticated animal species might be necessary.....' The NSPCC reports that calls from concerned adults to their child welfare hotline have got up 53% during the pandemic.
