One Night in Southwark

These posters were in the foyer of the Union Theatre in Southwark, promoting their production of Chess. This was a musical I was keen to see, having been a fan since seeing the original West End production with Elaine Page and Murray Head. Unfortunately, it's been sold out for a while, but I managed to get a return.

I loved it; the intimate low-tech staging was a million miles away from the giant revolving disco-floor chessboard and eight-by-eight grid of TV screens of Trevor Nunn's version, but that worked strongly in its favour.

I may even try to go again.
