Thank You For the Days ..

By Fyael

Better Days ....

Will come again - to quote the National Bard, whose birthday we celebrate tonight.

We forgot  to lay in a haggis .... so it was roast chicken here.  But there's always a good stock of the uisge beatha to toast him ... and we will ...

Like all celebratory dates in these times, when the usual social events aren't happening, the thoughts go back to years gone by .... mine go back to 1973 when I woke on the morning of the 25th realising that the birth of number one child was not far off. I spent the day reading Burns in search of a good Scots name for him/her.

I needn't have bothered, he didn't arrive till the next day. But it took my mind off the hours ahead ..

Just settling down to watch the Beeb's celebratory programme - our song leader Robyn is singing, very proud and happy for her  - it's not an easy time to be a young artist making a career in the music world.

Another shot from the garden, the arbour up on the bank where we sit of a summer evening in the last rays .... better days will come again, as Rabbie said.
