Snow morning

I probably should have been working, but I headed out early for a long  walk through a Narnian landscape of stunning beauty, though less dramatic than yesterday's snowstorm.

There had been little wind overnight and all the trees were glazed with frozen snow, which gradually thawed as the sun gained strength. Such beautiful patterns everywhere - especially in the ice that had formed round the emergent reed at the edge of the Rowing Lake. Small waves lapping over the wafer thin ice at the outer edge was making it sing, a melody underpinned by the thawing snow dripping off nearby trees. And such intense colours - blues, gold, reds - a complete contrast to yesterdays de-saturated tones - the kinder face of snowy weather.
