Hover flies

We love hover flies and their larvae, the latter feeding on aphids and other plant damaging insect pests. They're not the easiest subject to photograph until they land and decide to be still for a little while. I love their wings - rival any fairy's.

The hover fly in the extra landed and sat and also did a quite interesting wing and leg thing I thought worth sharing.
