Knotted tree

There has been a bit of clear sky, though it was blink and you'll miss it.

So, this tree. When it was a seedling there were four shoots, and they got tied up in a sort of double reef knot, and then it grew to be a big grown up tree with four equal trunks. Two of the four have gone now, but at the base of the two that are left, there still remains that knot.

It says hello to me every time I pass.
