Tufted Ducks

I don't think I have featured tufted ducks in my venerable series 'Ducks of the Peedie Sea' before. Maybe the fact that a fair bit of the surface was ice meant that they were closer to the bank and within range. Lots of others- red-breasted merganser, goldeneye, wigeon, mallard and long-tailed ducks. some of which may have featured on the BBC's Winterwatch the other evening in an article on Orkney as I can't think of anywhere here that it is easier to get close to them.
