Mrs. Bluebird and her mate, dining

It was 9 degrees F this morning, -12 C. Actually, with the windchill it felt like -12 F here according to Weather Bug , the weather App on my phone. I have been out twice filling the bird feeders. It's a losing battle with a flock of 40-50 Starlings gobbling everything in sight, the song birds and Bluebirds have little access. I've just gone out, that drives the Starlings away and it gave this Bluebird couple a chance to dine.

Here’s Jack Frost’s work on our upstairs windows in the extra, along with a Bluebird in flight and feeding. Thank goodness for storm windows. This was a summer home originally in 1893, my grandparents bought it in1928 from the son of the original owners. Only the second floor bathroom added in1929, converted from a bedroom, has a radiator, not the three bedrooms. Luckily, we have a large radiator in the open hallway downstairs that sends lots of heat up to the second floor, bringing the heat up to the mid 60s. That's perfect in my book for sleeping, but it gives Jack a big canvas on the windows for his art. I originally posted the extra as my blip photo today, but changed it to the Bluebird couple.

For the Record,
This day came in with temps in the low F digits and the high has been 18F so far. Snow on the ground and light snow falling now and then as well.

All hands wary
