Whale

The trunk of a thousand year old oak tree has been hollowed out and presents itself here as a huge, imposing whale with a wide open mouth and an impressive tail fin. The opening at the front invites children to climb in and playfully explore the whale. At the end of the tail, a smaller opening offers a way out of the fish's belly.
The sculpture has as a central thought in the biblical story of Jonah.

Sleet ... all day.
But in the park there are a few more sculptures that I can blip in "bad times" ;-)
