Pastéis de Nata

Pastéis de Nata.

These are egg tarts whose recipe originates in Portugal (the most famous coming from Pastéis de Belém in Lisbon). I haven't been to Portugal yet, but I have them every time I'm in Brazil. I first tried them in Macau. These came out well, though of course not as well as the professionally made ones. Home ovens don't get as hot as the ones bakeries use (leading to a faster cook time and a distinctive singed top), and I am a relatively inexperienced baker (this is the first time I've attempt my own laminated dough). So, in the end, I'm quite thrilled with the result.
