As it was Imbolc today, and I had to be in town, I thought I would visit a stone circle on my way home. As you do.

This is only a small circle, of 10 stones, and only 3 miles from the nearest village, but it is very atmospheric, surrounded by gnarly old hawthorn trees and with open views on three sides. Even though  I could hear the traffic on the A75, I felt very solitary up there. I didn't stay too long as it was late in the afternoon, just long enough to walk around a couple of times and take photos. On one stone there was a seashell and on this one someone had placed a small crystal in a mossy hollow.
