The Power of Pink

Pink Shirt Day in Canada is marked every February 27 as a show of solidarity against bullying. The day began in 2007 when two Grade 12 students learned of a Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school.

To show their support of the student, they purchased pink tank tops and asked male students to wear them. Their efforts stopped the bullying, raised awareness, and started a movement.
