The Cruel Sea

Another Nor'easter today. They just keep on coming! High tides too, the waves were almost up to the sea wall and the beach was covered in blowing foam and debris from who-knows-where.

These clam shells were lying in a heap on the steps leading to the beach. They look as though they've been ripped apart by the waves - the fresh remnants of the adductor muscle are still clinging to the shell.
