In danger

Eucalypt forest in Marysville, Victoria. Twelve years ago a massive bushfire devastated the area. Mature Mountain Ash trees (Eucalyptus regnans) were killed. The forest is slowly regenerating. But if, in future, bushfires occur more frequently, then this iconic species could become extinct. And more frequent bushfires are highly likely as the climate changes.
